WHO should consider HOUSTON HOTSHOTS?

1.    Girls who want to play highly competitive AAU basketball.

2.    Girls in the age from 10 to 18 years old (determined by age as of January 1, 2004).

3.    Girls who have high school basketball achievement goals (High School teams, college scholarships, etc.)  ***NOT FOR RECREATIONAL PURPOSES***

4.   Girls and families who are COMMITTED to the players development in basketball.  Players wishing to split time between basketball and other club sports (i.e. USVB Volleyball) DO NOT APPLY.  Girls participating in high school spring sports are welcome.

WHAT are the HOUSTON HOTSHOTS?

1.   Winners of more regional AAU Championships than all other organizations combined.  Largest AAU organization in the Gulf Association with 20 teams in 2000.

2.   An AAU girls basketball club established in 1982 to give girls throughout the area a means of  improving their game after their school season has ended.

3.   A club recognized as a successful organization around the state.

4.   A group of quality coaches used as a basis to further develop fundamental basketball skills.

5.   Families willing to give time and effort to achieve ultimate goals.

6.   This is NOT a summer league play organization.  This association is structured for highly competitive play at organized tournaments around the City of Houston and State of Texas and various other states.

WHEN does this happen?

1.   Tryouts and team selections will be held during the month of  January.

2.   AAU Season - March through July.  If you cannot commit to be available for this period, do not apply.

WHERE does this happen?

1.   Tryouts to be held at various locations.  (See sign-up page for times & locations)

2.   Practice locations and times to be determined by each team coach.

3.   High level of competition to be attained by participation in local league play, local and out of town tournaments.

WHY be a HOUSTON HOTSHOT?

1.   Fundamental basketball development.

2.   Growth in commitment and dedication.

3.   National exposure to college scouts in the older age group tournaments.

EXPECTATIONS of a HOUSTON HOTSHOT?

1.  Availability for all scheduled tournaments no matter the location.

2.  Availability for all scheduled practice periods no matter the location and time.
