The following girls are the Houston Area Preseason top female basketball players according to the Houston Chronicle.  The Houston Hotshots are proud to have 13 of the 18 top female players in the area within our organization.  Congratulations to those who made the team and we have to admit that they overlooked quite a few others.

Two Houston Hotshots Make the ESPN Top National 50 Recruits for 2000
 
12. Chandi Jones
The vitals:
5-11 forward, Bay City, Texas (Bay City).
The skinny: An outstanding athlete, Jones' stock did nothing but climb throughout the summer.
Heading where: Signed with the University of Houston.

27. Ugo Oha
The vitals: 6-4 center, Houston, Texas (Hastings).
The skinny: A virtual unknown in many circles coming into the summer, she established her reputation at the AAU nationals.
Headed where: Signed with George Washington University
